From the introduction: This is a collection of texts written and translated by sixteen young men for publication on paideia.substack.com between May 10th 2023 and September 21st 2023. I set out in the hopes of cultivating a community of taste and raising the standards of writing amongst ourselves and our followers generally. To what degree that’s been achieved I do not know. What I do know is that this volume contains the first English translation of works from several of the 20th century’s greatest poets and thinkers such as Gottfried Benn and Ernst Jünger. It contains a redirection for modern science away from its current form which amounts to little more than a harlot selling herself to the highest bidder. It contains original poetry once again adhering to the principles shown by those before us. Histories heretofore hidden from our eyes, fruitful meditations, crisp symbolisms. In my estimation these men have engaged with the tradition in a way very few have since the modernists, and to paraphrase Pound, have “drawn up leaf from the root.”
